Four dolls wearing Chinese clothing with painted on faces. The first doll is made with porcelain and has articulated limbs. It is wearing a red, green, black, and white beaded headband/hat; an orange top with embroidered fabric; yellow-tan colored satin pants, and has little black shoes and rosy cheeks. Its orange top is falling apart in places.
The second doll has porcelain limbs, and possibly a cloth body, that the limbs are attached to and can move around freely. It is wearing an embroidered orange top with pink frogs; red pants; real (possibly human) hair glued to its head; and black shoes with purple trim.
The third doll is made from some kind of plastic, possibly celluloid, with articulated limbs. It has a bald head, painted lines on its sides of its face that indicates it once had hair, and is wearing green, beige, and purple dress/nightgown/robe, and has bare feet. The top of this doll's head has, what looks like, adhesive tape, which is another indicator that this doll once had hair.
The fourth doll is made from plastic, its shape is molded, and it wears a top, pants, shoes, and holds a fan. It has red paint on its pants, black paint on its shoes, there is green paint on the back of its top and traces of green paint on the front of its top. It appears to have a mustache, that might have once been painted.Context
These dolls came from a store in the San Francisco Bay Area's South Bay. The owner of the store said that they were made by the Nippon Doll Company.
