Description

The first issue of the Red Rock News was on October 3, 1963. Three Baptist churches were listed in Sedona as well as the Chapel of the Holy Cross, St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Wayside Chapel, the Christian Science Society, Assembly of God and the Church of the Red Rocks. The February 20, 1964 issue features the Building Fund Drive for the Church of the Red Rocks on the front cover. A picture of the beams being raised for the church is in the May 14, 1964 issue. On June 18, 1964 and July 16, 1964 Phoenix Choirs came to sing during the Summer Vesper Services. It is noted that an air conditioner has been installed in the new church building.
