Description

Scrapbook 4, 1987 - 1988 includes church bulletins, new articles about each Sunday's worship service from the Red Rock New and photos of special events. Construction of a new addition included a new front entrance, a large meeting hall with kitchen and new restrooms and administrative offices. The original windows in the chancel of the sanctuary were replaced with three large windows and the choir loft was enlarged. Friday Lenten Luncheons were held for the second year. CRR sponsored soup and cracker luncheons featuring local ministers as guest speakers. During this time several holiday services and concerts were held as well as concerts by the church choir and outside groups. “1987 A Year of church expansion! A first for the Church of the Red Rocks - the selection of Associate Pastor, Rev. Jolie Hughes. Christmas Eve Services were exceptional with 1,002 luminarias lighting all approaches and areas around the church and an outstanding inspirational candle light service in our beautiful sanctuary.” Dorothy Tompkins, Historian
