Her husband Kel was a State Senator and sponsored the bill to create the Black Canyon Freeway.
“The Church went through some very lean financial years. At one time we only had $13 in our account at the bank, and we ordered 300 checks, which showed that we had foresight. It took a lot of faith at that time.”
