Description
Fishing Celilo Falls in the Columbia Gorge. Postcard 54 in Union Oil Company's Natural Color Photographic Scenes of the West. By special treaty with the government, Native Americans fish at Celilo Falls on the Columbia river as they have for centuries, with spear and net. This area was first visited by Lewis and Clark when they completed their portage around the rapids and encamped on the north shore of the river in 1805.
