Description
Oregon City Southern Pacific Pay Train at 7th Street Station, Oregon City.
"After paying off the men in the shops the train starts "down the line" stopping at every station with wages for the agents, section crews and telegraph operators. The help were usually paid by check but many of the employees would endorse their check and have the cash for immediate payment of their monthly bills." Ed Culp "Early Oregon Days" (JAH 01/23)
