A Grand Army of the Republic ribbon. The GAR was a fraternal organization composed of veterans of the Union Army, Union Navy, and the Marines who served during the American Civil War. Founded in 1886 in Decatur, Illinois. This ribbon was from the 35th annual the encampment in California (May 8-10, 1902). The ribbon is red, white, and blue with two medallions (one at the top and the other in the middle). There are two American flags under the top medallion.
