William Procter, Jr., operated a pharmacy; taught 20 years in The Philadelphia College of Pharmacy; helped found The American Pharmaceutical Association; served the U.S.P. for 30 years; edited the American Journal of Pharmacy; literally died "in the harness" in 1874.
