An oil painting partly from photo and partly from memory of the Sudbury River seen from a canoe at dawn.
I grew up on Health's Bridge Rd in the 1950's and early 60's. We were "original settlers." The river was what I saw every night when I went to bed and where I loved to canoe with my best friends. I was so attached to the river that when I settled in Ann Arbor, my husband and I found a house near the Huron River. The ecology of river is very similar to the Sudbury, so the past and the present mingle to inspire me.

General Notes
Note
My family moved to Health's Bridge Rd in 1952 at the time Conantum as settled. I lived there till I was 14 when we moved to Palo Alto California. I was heart broken to leave Conantum and the river. Eventually I recovered, but the place remains close to me.
