Field #6 - Priscilla White SturgesDescription
This painting is part of an ongoing series that began specifically for The Umbrella Arts Center's annual Art Auction. Usually using my obsession with fields as the setting, I change each painting to resemble that year's Gala color scheme - 2024's featured rich greens and blues so this painting reflects that color combination.
I started painting again during the pandemic and began a series of fields, each piece using a different color scheme. After almost 50 years of designing for clients who like to tell me what to do, painting is something done for myself with no client input—so it is refreshing, liberating and stress-free.Type of Painting

Note
My parents moved into their 343 Holden Wood house on March 15th, 1952 and I was born 6 weeks later. My mother, Nui White, owned her house until her death in 1995 (father, Bob, died in 1981). My brother, Doug, bought the house in 1996 and as a builder, did the renovation himself - it was sold in 2012. Conantum has always been my home.
