Giant Paper Crane - Timothy NagaokaDescription
In 2021, we placed a Giant Paper Crane in the center of Copley Square to commemorate the ten year's after the Northeast Japan Earthquake and Tsunami. In 2022, we had students in Boston write messages on the paper for the people of Ukraine, and then we folded it together and had the Giant Paper Crane displayed at Boston Children's Museum. In 2024, we made the Paper Crane at the Children's Museum for the Boston-Kyoto Sister-City relationship, and it was presented to the Mayor in Kyoto, Japan.
We are using Paper Cranes to connect people and cultures. We are working with the town of Concord to do a Paper Crane folding event in the Monument Square area this fall.Type of Sculpture
