Description

A colour photographic print showing the Cenotaph in Jack Acres Park, Thornbury, showing a large polished stone memorial engraved with a cross and the words "Lest we forget" underneath it, with the quote "TO THE GLORY OF GOD AND IN LOVING MEMORY OF THE MEN OF THORNBURY WHO FOUGHT AND DIED IN THE GREAT WARS" followed by a list of names of soldiers who from Thornbury who were lost in the First and Second World Wars, and another inscription that reads "Dedicated in memory of those who served in their majesties' forces. By Beaver Valley Branch 281 Royal Canadian Legion". On the ground next to the stone is a yellow wreath, trees are visible in the background. Written on the reverse side in black ink reads "Centaph Thornbury Clarksburg."
