2011-009-700Scope and Content
A certificate with the provincial and territorial coat of arms surrounding black, stylized text, "Best Wishes to Thornbury on your Centennial, May 1987, Gus Mitges M.P., Grey-Simcoe", is in a black wooden frame with gold trim. The certificate is printed on a standard letter-size sheet of paper, which is an off-white colour. The certificate paper has a grey double-lined exterior border with the Canadian Shield in colour at the top centre. Light green leaves and vines are interwoven around coloured graphics of the provincial and territorial coats of arms (12 total), creating an oval in the centre of the certificate, where the graphics are printed in six lines. At the bottom left of the oval centre is a graphic of the parliament buildings.
The wooden frame is painted black, and a gold line is painted on the interior edge next to the glass front. The back of the frame is not painted, and pieces of masking tape hold the brown cardboard backing in place. Three pieces of Velcro are attached to the back of the frame: two pieces at the top and one at the bottom centre. A piece of wire is attached to two eye-screws at the back on both the left and right sides, between the centre and the top.
Frame removed for preservation of the document.Dimensions
