Description

Black and white photographic print of Tyson's Grist Mill (second building from left) and the one of the Clarksburg Woollen Mill buildings (third from left). This photograph is taken from the west side of the Beaver River looking east and likely taken before 1910, the year the woollen mill burnt down. The shed on the left has a bell tower which was used in times of fires. The building on the upper right is the house of C. M. Hartman, formerly the Tyson home. Transcription: Back label: "This view of the Clarksburg mills would have been seen from the west side of the Beaver River looking east across the river. On the upper right is the C.M. Hartman house, formerly the Tyson home. Water tower supplies water to the house and Haines house across the street when it was built. Large building in forefront is the woollen mills - grist mill to left. Shed on left has bell tower used in times of fires. The picture would have been taken before 1910 the year the woollen mill burned down."
