A history sheet for Clarence Bernard Houghton's time as an Engineman/Engine Room Artificer in the Canadian Navy during WWII. It gives information regarding Houghton's history of service. It states his port division as Halifax and the official number (unclear if this is for him or the division) as A. 2496. His service is listed from 27-8-40 for "Hostilities"
The history also gives the dates when Houghton progressed through the grades as an engineman. The term Engineman and E.R.A. (Engine Room Artificer) are both used on this record, the latter is often crossed out in favor of the former.
When unfolded, Houghton's record of employment can be read. He is listed at Stadacona (27-8-10 to 23-4-4), Stad. (28-11-42) and Scotian (23-7-44).
"Bersimis" is written in the upper corner of the front page. This is the name of a tugboat Houghton served on, though it is unclear why it is noted here.Archive Details
