Envelope which held letter (2007-004-042-a) from Norman Emerson to Mrs. Mildred MacMurchy. This letter is informing Mrs. McMurchy that the relics will be returned soon.
Physical Characteristics: The envelope is white with the University of Toronto address in the top left corner, a postmark stamp, two postage stamps in the top right corner, and a handwritten address in the centre. The name, "Emerson, J.N." is handwritten in blue ink above the University of Toronto address, which is typed in black. The black, postage stamp is round with text in the centre. The stamps are red (4 cents) and brown (1 cent). A rectangular, black postmark was stamped over the postage stamps. The address is handwritten in blue ink on four lines, and it is addressed to "Mrs. Murdoch McMurchy".
The left side of the envelope has been cut to open the letter. The flap on the back of the letter is sealed. There is a black stamp, which appears to be two lines, on the back of the envelope.Archive Details
