Description

Black and white photographic print of several trees which obscure the view of a ski hill covered in snow. A truck (engine for tow rope) is parked near the base of the hill on the right side of the photograph. A structure (the rope tow) is near the centre of the photograph, but it is behind several trees. On the back of the photograph is "GRANNY ROPE TOW, & 'ENGINE', RAN BY OZ. KINSEY, TAKEN FROM PRACTICE HILL, MID 1940'S, GEO FOSTER" handwritten in pencil. A piece of overlay paper is folded over about an inch from the top and placed over the top edge of the photograph to hang in front of the photo. The overlay has writing in blue pen and green marker to indicate the parts of the tow rope. At the top centre is "TOP" written in green, but just above the word "TOP" is written again and crossed out. Two green lines are drawn. The top green line has "ROPE TOW PATH" written in blue pen above the line. The bottom green line has an arrow point to the right and the words, "THIS WAY TO TOW", are written along the line. The words, "ROPE TOW", are written just right of the centre over a structure hidden behind the trees. The outline of a truck is drawn in green and inside the truck outline are the words, "ENGINE FOR TOW" in blue. At the bottom left corner of the overlay paper are the words, "PRACTICE HILL", with a two way arrow drawn below.
