Black and white photographic print of James Barclay, postmaster for Camperdown at the top of a ladder taking down a catcher pouch. An unknown person is standing nearby at the bottom of the ladder looking upwards at the catcher pouch.
Label on back of print states "James Barclay was the Camperdown postmaster almost all of his life, as his father was before him. This photograph shows more than may be evident to some not familiar with the area. Daily Mr. Barclay hung the mail sack on the pole beside the tracks where a trainman snatched it with a hooked stick as the train passed, unless there happened to be passengers to pick up or drop off. The highway ran to the south of the tracks this picture shows."
