35mm Slide - Mitchell's JuiceEntry/Object ID
2009-003-013Description
A colour photographic 35MM slide transparency mounted in a square, white cardstock protective frame with rounded corners, capturing an interior view of an employee operating industrial machinery at the Mitchell's plant.
The film transparency depicts a man wearing a white hard hat, a light bluish-grey work shirt, and jeans, standing in profile with his right hand resting on top of a production machine filled with glass jars. Additional layers of glass jars are stacked high immediately to his left, documenting the facility's hot-packing or bottling line during the October 1973 processing season.
The recto (front) of the white cardstock frame features the handwritten title "MITCHELL'S APPLE SAUCE" in black pen across the upper margin, the numeral "4" handwritten in blue pen on the left border, and a red dot in the lower-left corner. The bottom margin is finished with two crisp black ink stamps reading "G. A. BLACK" and "OCT 1973", while the verso (reverse) side of the mount remains plain white and unmarked.Made/Created
