Seven buildings can be seen in the background of the image, situated on the bank of the river. Two wooden flumes are visible on both sides. A postage mark is stamped on the reverse side in black ink that reads “Thornbury. Jan 30. 14. ONT”. Written in blue ink on the reverse side reads "R.J.
