A small receipt for the Canadian Post at the top of the receipt reads “receipt” in both English and French. Below is a box that reads “dollars (hand-drawn as a line); next to that is another box that says cents. Above that is written 25. Below that is printed “NO,” and next to that in red is stamped “7133.” Below that is another box that reads along the top of that box “stamp of issue office” and then along the left-hand side of the box are the same words but in French in the centre of that box is a stamp that reads “Thornbury December 20th 25 Ontario.” Below that reads “remitter must keep this receipt.” Below that is the same wording but in French along the right-hand side of the receipt, going from top to bottom, reads “Thornbury, Ontario 4502.” Around the receipt is a decorative border covering the background of the receipt, which reads "Canadian postal money" in both French and English. The back of their seat has lightly printed words that read “Hold this receipt until satisfied the order has been paid.” It is written in both French and English; below the French word is “payee at Remitter.” The receipt is badly stained and discoloured along the back with a folded mark and a rip to the right.Archive Details
