Student's two-page essay written in black pen on foolscap paper. The pages are secured together with a staple located in the upper left corner. The title of this essay, written on page one, is "The History of Redwing Public School". Written on the back of page two is the author of the essay: "Bruce McCallum / Ravenna / Ontario / R.R. #1."
In the essay, the author identifies the last renovation to the school occurring in 1935. It can be concluded that this essay was written after 1935.
A winner's list and accompanying essays were discovered in a single yellow envelope titled "Children's Essays On Local Area". All essays are charred/burnt along the right edge only.
