A typed, paper label is affixed to the reverse side that reads "William Hewgill and his wife Jane Foster came from the Toronto Gore in 1861. They were married December 24, 1844 and their new home was on lot 17, concession 12 in February 1865. The farm was named Millcreek Far and they founded one of the best known families in the township."
