Description

A piece of petrified wood from the agate desert in Jackson County, Oregon. Piece shows how jasper replaced most of the wood. Probably from the Oligocene epoch, Tertiary period, Cenozoic era. Polished side shows it was cut with the grain. Colors: Brassy brown to dark brown. Center band is surrounded by more choppy bands (sold at auction: 03/28/2015
