Chemical Composition: SiO2 Crystal System: Triclinic System Description: Common Name: Agate Chemistry: SiO2 , Silicon dioxide Class: Class: Silicates Location: Afton, CA Description: Polished side shows open hole with faint amethyst colored quartz surrounded by fortified agate in whites, tans, blues, pinks and red at outer edge. Exterior is very rough and porus. Delmar: "Agate. Polished side shows two crystalline holes in clear and gray agate with small amount of bedding (in white, tan, and blue) in some places. Green and blue rock is seen along one side. Some brown rock seen, too."
