Description

2 pieces of petrified wood made into book ends from the Virgin River in Utah, in Chinle formation. Colors: center has a small red spot with a white outline, inside a brown and beige area. Pink and red are seen throughout the piece in a transparent glaze. Top part of a book ends are in grey. Several small cracks are crystalline filled. Several small spots are also crystalline filled. Probably from Jurassic period, Mesozoic era (~200 mya). Delmar Smith says this is an excellent example of the would from this area. Growth rings apparent. (Removed from inventory, sold in gift shop).
