Chemical Composition: SiO2 Crystal System: Triclinic System Description: Common Name: Agate Chemistry: SiO2 , Silicon dioxide Class: Class: Silicates Location: Lake Creek, Jackson County, OR Description: Thin slab with polished face. Light brown banding on outer edges with a creamy, pale blue inner area, and a white to dull yellow center. Delmar: "Slice of an agate. A brown 'eye' is present in the center surrounded by a light gray fortification line in a grayish 'embryo shaped' area, surrounded by fortification lines in white, and grays. Outermost fortification lines are in clear tone and gray. A small crystalline hole is apparent to one side of nodule, surrounded by gray and clear toned lines containing a 'lace-like' opaque material in light gray."
