Description

A 1.9 cm thick, triangular shaped slice of petrified wood from Yakima, Washington. Several cracks extend inward from edge and are silicate filled. Growth rings apparent. ( Removed from inventory to gift shop, 02/18/2000. Colors: piece has been broken off from the original tree at center, so the center is to one edge, and dark brown surrounded by beige and gold wood, then dark brown, then beige and gold, then black - brown at outermost edge. Probably from Oligocene epoch, Tertiary period, Cenozoic era (~40 mya).
