Chemical Composition: SiO2 Crystal System: Hexagonal System Description: Common Name: Thunderegg Chemistry: SiO2 , Silicon dioxide Class: Silicates Location: Springer Bed, Ochoco Mtns, Prineville, Oregon Description: Large, rough, rounded back with polished face. Brown and olive green outer banding. Translucent blue-gray, brown, and some dull orange with a transparent white crystalline center. There is also a small hollow slit in the center area.
