Constructing new access road to Dry Creek land fix 1/4 north east from eastern end of NC-6, an excavator exposed a petrified long in 5 secrions 14' below the surface in tan-yellow clay. Log lying parallel to ground. Not well preserved; many cracks and sides crumbly. A D-8 cut backed over and crushed the other round.
