Fossil Coelenterates Montlivaltia Horn Coral. One large piece of horn coral (Order Rugosa), which appears to be flattened. Opening shows inner chambers (created by septa and tabulae intersecting?). Surface shows radial lines. Coral is conical shaped.
Purported to be of Upper Carboniferous (Mississippian) age from Indiana. However, see cataloging note for issues regarding ID and age.Collection
