The Cape York meteorite, which impacted Greenland about 10,000 years ago, is one of the largest iron meteorites in Earth's history, with a total recovered mass exceeding 58 tons. Its fragments are famous for being the world's only meteorite source that an indigenous population (Inuit) depended on for existence, using the metal to forge tools and weapons.
