Age: Eocene Location: Green River Formation, WY Description: This specimen is on a very large plaque with good detail, however due to lack of identifiable charatistics it is not a definitive species. However it does appear to be in the palm family. Physical Charateristics: Palm trees are a family of plants. This family is called Arecaceae. Most of them are trees but some are shrubs. They grow in hot climates.Well known palm trees are: Date palm Coconut palm There are over two thousand kinds, living in many kinds of places from rainforests to deserts.
