Description: Delmar describes this specimen as a limb of petrified wood from Sweethome, Oregon (west central oregon) a variety of "sycamore". Polished end shows greys, black, some brown and beige. Delmar believed the specimen is of the tropical variety and was probably from the Jurassic period, mesozoic era.
Walt Wright or Doug Foster later identifies this specimen as being from the Teeter Ranch in Post Oregon which is just east of Prineville in central oregon, the piece has also correctly been identified as 'sycamore" from the miocene epoch.
