Size: 3.00"x 3.00"x 2.250" Type of Fossils Present: Plants Fracture: conchoidal Grain Size: Fine Hardness: 7 Quartz Lithofacies: sedimentary Luster: Vitreous Occurrence: The story told in the rocks here began when volcanic eruptions of the Clarno entombed plants from a tropical environment 44 million years ago. Here there are a cluster of what was probably some animals cache of nuts whose imprint was left in the sandstone Pressure: Moderate Rock Color: Dark Rock Origin: Marine/Freshwater Rock Type: Sedimentary Specific Gravity: 2.6 Surface Process: Not apparent Temperature: Low Texture: fine grain Variety: The imprint made was deterimed to be that of a pecan.
