Description

A 1.2 cm thick slice of petrified wood from East Central Arizona. Variety, “Woodworthia”. Piece contains an open hole in the center, approximately 3.8 centimeters wide. Tropical tree-no growth rings. Colors: around the hole are several cracks in grey and pinkish brown in a dark brown wood, surrounded by a lighter grey-brown wood, and with dark brown again at the outer edge. Several grayish patches in the center have a slight sparkle. All along the outer edge of the central dark brown wood are small crystalline cracks pointing toward the center. Probably from Jurassic period, Mesozoic era (~200 mya).
