Retrieved from the Enamel Arts Foundation website: [https://www.enamelarts.org/the-snail/] According to the artist, The Snail extols the virtues of patience and calm persistence. As Wood described: “The brooch came to me, really, it appeared as the perfect composition on my bench. At the time I took it as a good omen – a sign to continue at a steady pace. The enamel process is complex and has many areas of study and good things take time and cannot be hurried. This occurrence had perfect timing because I needed the reminder. The Snail is a symbol of transition, growth, and patience.” The brooch comes with a custom-made mount that allows the piece to be displayed on the wall when the brooch is not worn. [IR 06/25/2025]
