Retrieved from the Enamel Arts Foundation website: [https://www.enamelarts.org/sunflowers/] As with their other collaborations in the Foundation’s collection, this piece represents the work of two artists with shared lives and kindred sensibilities. In choosing the warm palette for her Kabuki Kachina Sunflowers, Marianne Hunter was inspired by the soft buttery tones and pronounced figure in Bill Hunter’s ebony bowl. The poem on the reverse of her pendant reflects a shared sense of joy: “Kabuki Kachina dances among galaxies wearing the planets, like sunflowers, joyful boutonnière.” [IR 06/25/2025]
