Artist Statement

Note

The artist states: "Disappearing Act is a response to the aftermath of the Bobcat fire of 2020 that ravaged the San Gabriel Mountains. Walking through the altered landscape I became aware of what remained, stairways to nothing, white ash foundations, chimneys and the few skeletal trees. Even in a landscape that has been so radically transformed, there is a promise of light and regeneration. Shown in Abstract/Not Abstract exhibition at Friends of Contemporary Art, LA." [IR 04/09/2025]
