Note

Many of us explore nature through hiking, camping and nature trips into the wilderness. Others often find this connection on daily walks observing nature in our own neighborhood, around our workplaces, and along our daily travels. Parts of nature echo different parts of a home that belong to all of us. On my walks in the neighborhood, hearing a birdsong that reminds me of a bird I grew up around in Punjab is my favorite nature connection found locally right outside my door. The birdsong evokes nostalgia and joy eventually settling into a feeling of being home and being around those who symbolize home. [JH 05/12/2025]
