Protector 2021
This piece is part of a body of abstract works I started making in 2018. I was inspired to make more universal and ephemeral pieces after an extended silent Buddhist meditation retreat I completed in 2018. They are constructed using a wide variety of small marks and materials combined together to form a larger cohesive structure in the same way that all life and material in known existence combines together to form the universe. Referencing imagery from the microscopic to the cosmic they are intended to show the interconnectedness of all beings.
