Cultural Arts, City of Ocala

The City of Ocala, situated in the heart of North Central Florida, is home to a thriving art community. The City owns a wide variety of public artworks that represent the talents of regional artists in addition to artists across and beyond the state of Florida who have found a home for their art in the City of Ocala. The permanent collection, consisting primarily of sculptures and murals, can be found throughout the City, from downtown, to the many parks and businesses that bring the city to life. Most notably, is the biennial Ocala Outdoor Sculpture Competition which gives artists across the US an opportunity to display their work at Tuscawilla Art Park. In addition to the permanent collection, the city organizes an Art in City Spaces program which features a rotating group of artists whose work is curated within city-owned spaces, such as City Hall!
