A chair is a powerful symbol in some cultures, and if you'd like to see the one atop this piece as a resting place for a king or a god, please go ahead. The text on the underside mentions my grandmother, among other memories, and the picture of the standing miner collaged into the photo brings to mind the era she grew up in. Although in 2006 I thought the piece was complete, in 2010 I found an old piece of copper and decided I needed to get the sculpture off the ground, and so I made 4 legs. By the way, I built this one in the same way I built my very first plaster and wood object back in 1973: wood frame with lath, covered in plaster.Dimensions
