On Sundays I used to walk over to the construction sites of the MRT Tamshui line in Peitou because generally no one was working and I could get close. I was even able on one occasion to climb a rickety access ladder to the track beds, something that would be unthinkable if it were being built today. Sort of akin to when I climbed to the top of one of the towers of the Sagrada Familia in 1971...no way today!!
