031Description
In this technically brilliant print, the intriguing image seems to involve multiple iterations of the same character, some of them disturbing. The geometric precision of the oddly constructed "bridge" and the beautifully rendered mechanical arm of the huge shovel are cleverly balance by the debris contained in the shovel's maw. A wooden boat rests in a dry river bed, while 5 figures occupy various points of the picture plane. Rife with personal symbolism and unexplained metaphors, this is part of a series of images Becker produced under the title Crosspaths.Inscription/Signature/Marks
