From drbobpliny.com: "Dedicated to the blending of Science and Art, toward the world wide development of Super Vision, Dr. Pliny stretches the imagination, tears apart convention and examines the minute details of experience!"
Dr Bob, in spite of the faux naivete of his imagery, went to Cooper Union, and he lives in Portland, Oregon, a city known for its engagement with the arts. I might have gotten this painting in Portland, but regardless, it's definitely one of Dr Bob's more accomplished paintings. The "people" in this painting only have one eye each, but all the other animate (and inanimate) objects have two, and they are trained on the viewer. The brilliant colors and active brush marks contribute energy to an already crowded picture plane. I love the identical hairstyles on the three "humans", and to me it appears that the yellow building on the right edge of the canvas may just be mimicking the "human" face in front of him. Dr Bob has been making artist books lately, though his website doesn't always work so it's hard to see them.Inscription/Signature/Marks
