Jef Gunn is one of the best painters in the Northwest. Justly renowned for his encaustic paintings on panels, like this one, Jef is also a revered teacher who periodically conducts classes in encaustic, oils, and plein-air techniques for enthusiastic and devoted students. I got this painting from Jef a few days after first meeting him; through a mutual acquaintance, Jef had introduced me to the studios at the Boxlift building, and we became next-door studio neighbors and good friends.Inscription/Signature/Marks
