What started out as really almost nothing became one of my favorite objects. The washed-out pink of the spoon I found on a beach brings the blackened wood alive and echoes both the halo around the boy's head and the semicircular measuring device (back view). The large nail protruding from the side of the wood is as I found it. The underside of the object continues the circle motif with the bottle cap, the decorative silver caps, and the semi-circle of beads; the silver heart split into two mimics the wings of the angel. If you bother to read the scrawl in the white-painted area, you might notice that each line begins with "So the artist + a verb beginning with the letter "s". I also intended each line to carry a specific number of sounds which reinforces the regularity of the entire object.
