In an image that is both childlike and menacing, a face/head/skull lies underground, beneath a house lit by an interior orange warmth. The house may be out in a rural area, given the suggestion of vegetation. Is this painting intended as simply a reminder that we have ancestors? The colors ascend from bottom to top, and lighten, giving a subtle impression of growth, but a dark emotional tone remains.Artwork Details
