Name/Title

Large Raku 2

Description

In the late 90s and early 2000s I was able to throw large round forms, and this is an example of one that I put in a raku firing. The unglazed clay body (top) blackened during the process, and one interesting feature is the small circle of rough glaze on the left side. That's where this pot "kissed" another pot in the smoking chamber. Luckily the glaze was still hot enough to separate the two forms.

Inscription/Signature/Marks

Glaze inscribed with the character for "Ka" which is part of my name in Mandarin.
